The Unofficial Official Fish Hooks Blog!

Hey everybody!

This is Ian Wasseluk, I’m a storyboard artist and writer on Fish Hooks. I don’t know about you guys, but there has been a question that has been keeping me up at night. What question you ask? Well here it is:

If the “Fish Hooks” cast were the “Avengers” which ones would they be?

I have racked my brain and this is what I came up with-CHECK IT OUT!!

Okay, FIRST! Captain America. I chose Milo ‘cuz he attracts the most attention and would probably force his way to become leader. Plus he’s the main character of the show and well it seemed like a natural place to start. MOVING ON!

Black Widow! For her I chose Bea. Of course! Both characters are smart and “act” their way out of situations. Another big reason is they both have red hair! Shellsea was a runner up. ANYWAY-

Hawkeye! I chose Oscar for him. Mainly because Hawkeye is cool and calm and Oscar is the exact opposite of that. Plus, Hawkeye and Black Widow kind of have a “thing” going on between them (at least that’s what I was led to believe from the movie) and Oscar and Bea have a similar “thing” as well! You can tell I thought a lot about this!

Thor! For him I chose Steve Jackson. Why? I would say he is the most “god-like” of the Fish hooks characters ( much like his Norse counterpart!) at least that’s how they tell us to write him. Also, they both have blonde hair! Coincidence? I think not!

Hulk! Okay, I thought Jocktopus at first- but then I remembered that Dr. Bruce Banner is a brilliant scientist when he’s not smashing things. Who is the show’s most brilliant mind? I chose Jumbo Shrimp. With all his crazy experiments I’m sure he would have eventually blasted himself with an accidental dose of gamma rays. Plus with all his nerd rage stored up inside him he’s bound to hulk out at any moment!

Iron man! For him I chose Albert Glass. Why? Albert Glass is a fragile little guy who would probably need a powered suit of armor to stay alive. Plus he’s rich and smart (you know we haven’t really done an episode that explores his home life but that’s a discussion for another time) and he’s best science friends with Jumbo, much like Bruce Banner and Tony Stark are best bros!

Finally, Nick Fury! I chose Mr. Baldwin, mainly because they are both bald. I thought Coach Salmons for a second (because of his secret military background- see the episode “Just One of the Fish” ) but this choice felt better.
